Can I put a Dumpster on the Street?
This varies by city and county and you will need to contact your local parking, permits and/or regulations department to find out if the dumpster may be left on the street/ private property and public right of way and the cost to purchase your permit if needed. We can help direct you to the right contacts if you need assistance. Most of our dumpsters fit easily on a driveway.
Nova dumpsters is not responsible for obtaining necessary permits.
Do I need to get a permit from my city?
Each city and county have different guidelines on permit requirements for dumpster placement. If you are going to place your dumpter on the street or other public right of way please contact your local permit or regulations office. Our office can also assist you with additional information as needed.
It is up to the customer to make sure all requirements are met.
How high can I load the dumpster?
When we come to pick up the dumpster, we need to have it properly loaded. Please make sure you do not pass the load level line as this can make transport challenging. Please try to load the dumpster evenly if possible.
If you require additional space, please contact us and we can discuss a solution to help you finish your job. If a dumpster is overloaded, you will be responsible for unloading the dumpster to a safe level.
How do I know what size dumpster to order?
The ideal dumpster size will depend on what your project needs are. Common rentals include renovations, moving in/out, landscaping, house clean-ups, etc. We rent 6-yard, 10-yard, 15 yard, and 20 yard dumpsters. Please review our dumpster sizing descriptions or call one of our experienced estimators to help you decide on the best size for your specific needs.

The maximum legal weight that can be put in our dumpsters is 12,000 lbs. or 6 tons
What’s included in the price of a dumpster?
Our standard rental fee includes delivery, pick-up, and dumping. Extra fees are incurred if dumpsters are overloaded, damaged, or if restricted items are placed in the dumpster. A fee is also charged if we arrive to pick up a dumpster and it is not accessible or if you cancel your booking in less than 24 hours.
Will it cause damage to my property?
Our experienced drivers will follow all guidelines to properly drop off and pick-up the dumpster for your job. While the vast majority of driveways will not be damaged by a dumpster, there are some conditions (cracked or broken driveways, dirt/stone/rock driveways, grass) where some damage may occur due to the weight of a dumpster. To minimize the chance of damage, avoid overloading the dumpster.
We use a unique system that allows us to lower dumpsters onto your property and not simply drop it off. This helps to lessen the potential for damage.
Nova Dumpsters is not financially liable for the damages caused by normal dumpster operation.
Do I have to be there when the dumpster is dropped off or picked up?
No, we can do this without you being there if the location for delivery is easily accessible and identifiable. If this is your first time renting a dumpster we encourage you to be there when we deliver the dumpster.
How long can I have the dumpster?
Rental fees include specific rental days. If you require a dumpster for a longer period of time, please call our experienced staff to discuss all of the options available.
